Ancestral Blessing/Soul Candle Ritual

Friday morning October 4th at 11:00 am.  Come experience this ancient Eastern European/Ashkenazic tradition of praying for the souls of our ancestors and calling on their blessings as we use candle wick to "measure" the Tel Aviv section of Scenic Hills Memorial park in Ashland.  The candle wick is then used to make candles for blessing the new year and honoring the living and the ancestral souls.  PhD and Kohenet Annie Cohen taught me about this mystical and mostly forgotten practice.  This Jewish practice was not just honoring or remembering, but *communicating* with the dead and requesting their assistance as our intermediaries in asking the Shechinah for the things we need. Join us to practice cultivating relationship with our ancestors.
