Founded by Cyrise and Stefan Schachter, Sing Dance Pray is a manifestation of our shared passion for music, movement, and magic, and our deep belief in their transformative power to uplift the human soul and heal the world.
Meet
Cyrise
Cyrise is the visionary founder of Sing Dance Pray.
Cyrise holds an MFA in Creative Writing and Poetry, is a certified teacher of Jewish Meditation and an ordained Maggidah/Storyteller in the lineage of Rav Zalman Schachter-Shalomi of beloved memory.
Cyrise has served for the past twenty five years as rabbinic assistant, musical director, and priestess for West Coast Jewish Renewal communities,. She is also a musician, dancer, and educator.
Cyrise brings a nurturing presence, open hearted enthusiasm, and decades of experience to all of her classes, performances, and ritual leadership.
Cyrise creates a safe and sacred space for individuals to explore their inner landscapes, embrace their authentic selves, and connect with the healing joy of their innate and unique creativity.
Cyrise is an avid seeker of beauty, finding inspiration in her garden, in the deep joy of great music and literature, in discussions of philosophy and counter oppressive theology, in time with her husband and son, and in connection to friends and community and the sacred earth beneath her feet..

Stefan
Stefan Schachter is the heartbeat behind Sing Dance Pray.
A lifelong acoustic guitarist and composer whose love for music knows no bounds, Stefan’s musical journey demonstrates the healing power of creativity and self-expression.
As a solo artist, Stefan captivates audiences with his live performances. Utilizing a looper pedal to craft intricate meditative soundscapes, Stefan creates a symphony of sound that conjures a state of tranquility and serenity.
The natural beauty of Stefan’s surroundings further enhances the experience, as he’s often found in the enchanted woods of Ashland’s Lithia Park, where he offers his music alongside the wind in the trees and the rushing creek to the grateful folks who stroll by and listen.
Stefan brings the perfect sonic field to multiple venues, including music festivals, private parties, fundraisers, and art galleries, where his music creates an ambiance of warmth and intimacy. Through his improvisational approach to live public performance art, Stefan aims to embody his credo that “music is medicine”.
Stefan also lends his talents to his acoustic duo, Sea Change. Known for their poetic lyrics and warm timbres, Sea Change features Stefan on Guitar and Cyrise on vocals, and percussion.
